Lying in the calm, blue waters of the southern Gulf and flanked by majestic desert, Dubai and the Northern Emirates offer year-round sunshine and five-star luxury, plus the adventure of a unique Arabian experience. One of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, Dubai is a place of fascinating contrasts, a distinctive blend of modern city and timeless desert, of East and West, of old and new.

One of Dubai’s greatest visitor attractions is its superb shopping. As an open port with low import duties, Dubai’s retail prices are reasonable and the variety of products available is virtually unrivalled. Free of tax, many top brand-name products are cheaper in Dubai than in the countries of their origin. In addition to the souk districts and shopping malls, there are many top-class department stores and boutiques throughout the city.

Hotels in this region rank amongst the best in the world. Food, from the excellent local dishes to the dozens of other national cuisines represented in Dubai, is absolutely superb. The sporting facilities, from game fishing to golf and from sand skiing to scuba diving, are all world class. Dubai is a destination in its own right and the perfect stopover enroute to the Far East and Australasia.
