Gourmet Round the World Trip
For the Gourmet Traveller sampling the local cuisine is a big part of the travelling experience, you seek out the best food (and probably wine!) available to you and are keen to learn the secrets of tempting cuisines so you can re-create them on your return. Of course, you can do this independently but if you’d like to team up with other like-minded travellers there are some fantastic small group gourmet tours available.
Visit la Boqueria in Barcelona and sample pintxos, feast on steaks and red wine in South America, sip crisp Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand, visit the many wine regions of Australia and sample food from all over the world alongside the ubiquitous barbie. Discover there’s much more to Japanese food than just sushi and sashimi, participate in cooking classes overlooking the stunning rice paddy terraces of Ubud in Bali, master eating noodles with chopsticks in China, eat your way overland from Singapore (laksa and chilli crab), through Malaysia (Roti and curries) to Thailand (green papaya salad and Pad Thai) and on through Cambodia and Vietnam (Asian baguettes and pho noodle soup) before finishing your epic gourmet tour with the spicing champions of the world in India!
