Your financial protection

When you book with Travel Nation, your money is safe. We are bonded agents and members of ATOL, ABTA, IATA, and provide free airline failure insurance:

ATOLATOL (9828)

Bookings made Travel Nation are either protected under our own ATOL licence or under the licence of a tour operator for whom we act as an agent. Travel Nation’s Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL) number is 9828 and is issued by the Civil Aviation Authority. When you buy an ATOL protected air inclusive holiday from us, you will receive a confirmation invoice from us confirming your arrangements and your details of your ATOL protection. In the unlikely event of our insolvency or the insolvency of one of our suppliers, the CAA will ensure that you are not left stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking.

The air inclusive holidays we arrange are ATOL protected providing either the person who pays for the booking is present in the UK when the booking is made or the first leg of any flight or flights we arrange for you commences in the UK. Travel Nation’s ATOL status can be verified on the Civil Aviation Authority website.

ABTA

ABTA (J4916)

This is a trade body for travel agents and tour operators. It has both a 'commercial role' to promote the interests of its members and a 'regulatory' role. ABTA members have to operate to Codes of Conduct produced by the organisation, they are bonded so that client's money is protected in the event of failure and in the event of an unresolved dispute between a passenger and an ABTA member there is an arbitration service available which can be used as an alternative to legal action. Our ABTA number is J4916. This can be verified on ABTA’s website.

Airline Failure Protection

This is a scheme introduced by the Civil Aviation Authority following a series of airline financial failures in recent years. This means that if an airline goes into administration prior to commencement of travel, you will receive a refund on it, or if you have part flown on a ticket, you are entitled to a refund or are covered to complete your journey using alternative airlines. This cover is not available if you book with an airline directly.

IATA (9128116)

This is a trade body that represents most major airlines. Travel agents displaying the IATA logo have met stringent financial and professional criteria. IATA membership doesn’t provide financial protection to passengers. This is provided by our ATOL and ABTA status and by our Airline Failure Protection.
