Working out how much you want to spend on your flights can be a tricky balancing act. Here are some things to consider.

1. In general, the more you spend, the more stops per £ you get. A ticket costing £1,000 might typically only have 4 or 5 stops, whereas one costing £2,000 could easily have a dozen of more stops.
   
   
2. The more you spend, the more your control you have over where your stops are. Using the example above, the range of stops can choose from on a £1,000 ticket will be much smaller than that of a £2,000 ticket.
   
   
3. Round the world business or first class tickets tend to be much better value on a £ per mile or £ per stop basis than normal return flights in business or first class.
   
   
4. Don't try to conquer the world in a fortnight. We can put together some fantastic routes with lots and lots of great stops, but if you only have a few weeks, try to stick to a simpler itinerary - it's hot out there and you need to relax !
