Changing your dates while you are travelling

Once you’ve left the U.K we appreciate your plans may change, so the vast majority of our round the world and multi-stop tickets allow date changes (subject to seat availability). There is generally a small fee to change dates which varies depending on the type of ticket purchased, all date change conditions and costs will be stated on your Travel Nation booking form.

Reservation changes can be made at any time, though just as with booking your round the world ticket in the first place, the further in advance you do this, the better your chances will be of getting the dates you want.

Route changes

Again, with lots of round the world tickets you can also change your route whilst travelling. Obviously the new route has to fit in with the conditions of your original ticket and charges apply. If your ticket is re-routable, we will advise and also indicate the likely costs on your Travel Nation booking form. The exact cost will vary depending on what your new plan is and is calculated on a case by case basis (any new taxes, fuel surcharges and fares for the new route need to be collected). Please remember that airline offices at airports are often not geared up to for this type of transaction, so it is better to make your way to airline city offices. Alternatively just contact Travel Nation as in the majority of cases we’re able to process the re-route for you.

Important note: If you fail to show up for a flight on which you are booked, airline reservation systems are likely to auto-cancel all of your subsequent flights. Whilst these may be re-booked, it may not be possible to get back your old dates. You are advised to let the airline know beforehand if you won't be taking a flight.

Whilst date and route changes can be made directly with the airline locally for the relevant fee, we know it’s often difficult (and costly!) to make contact with them. So you might simply prefer to deal with us. With some airlines introducing their own ‘local service fees’ we’re increasingly finding it works out cheaper for you to make these changes direct with Travel Nation. To do this just email or call us from wherever you are, we’ll respond promptly and will email re-issued E tickets by email as required. All fees will be outlined on your booking confirmation.

If you want us to change your dates or route it’s often best if you can call us, that way we can go through your options on the spot and grab any last minute seats. If this isn’t possible, please email us with as much information as possible regarding how flexible you can be. If you do this when you are in a place where you are able to access your emails regularly, it makes life easier too !
