Does any one airline fly all the way around the world?
The only airline on which it is possible to fly all the way
around the world is Air New Zealand
Normally, when you book a round the world ticket, you end up travelling
with a range of different airlines, but since October 2006 , it has
been possible to do your entire trip with one carrier, Air New Zealand
when, in addition to flying London – L.A. – Auckland, they
started a London – Hong Kong – Auckland service.
This doesn’t mean however that a round the world ticket using
Air New Zealand can only consist of London – Hong Kong –
Auckland – L.A. – London route. It is also possible to spice
up your journey by building in ‘surface sectors’
For example, you can fly London – Hong Kong and make your own way to
either Shanghai or Beijing in China to take a flight from there on to
Auckland. You could also make your own way to Japan flying on to New
Zealand from Tokyo or Osaka (one interesting way of getting from Hong
Kong to Japan could be to take the train up to Shanghai in China and
then jump on the weekly ferry that sails to Kobe in Japan (near Osaka).
You could fly from Auckland to San Francisco or Vancouver and make your
way over land down to L.A. to fly back to the UK from there. If all
that marching around sounds a bit strenuous, you could also factor in
stops in blissful South Pacific Islands such as Rarotonga, Western Samoa
or Tonga. If you would like more information about fares and routes
